Critical Minerals Association (CMA)
DELIVERING SUPPLY FOR BRITAIN'S MODERN ECONOMY
Britain needs a robust supply chain to deliver its Industrial Strategy and meet the critical mineral needs of our National Economy. The Critical Minerals Association (CMA) will provide a unique platform for companies and individuals to come together and share key insights with the UK Government.
Our Goals are to:
-
Increase the self-sufficiency of supply chains for our industrial strategy
-
Provide peer-to-peer support on best practice and set recognised standards for critical mineral companies
-
Improve societal/ government perception of the critical minerals sector - including the sector’s importance for our industrial strategy and its ability to maintain high ethical standards
-
Provide a direct line of communication between industry and government and create a unified influence of industry.

WHY IS IT NEEDED?
Now, more than ever, the UK needs to secure supply chains and withstand fluctuations in international politics. There is an urgency to identify new sources of critical minerals, invest in extraction technologies and increase Government support for recycling initiatives. We need to support a robust minerals extraction industry for the UK and support the wider sector.
The CMA will enable Industry to generate a collective voice when outlining concerns and future recommendations, providing a direct line of communication between Industry and Government.
Recognising the importance of high standards across the sector, the CMA will develop peer-to-peer sharing of best practice and set recognised standards for companies and consumers. Our aim is to improve societal perceptions of the sector by showcasing the economic and social benefits of critical mineral companies and highlighting the Industry’s importance for our National Economy.
WHAT DO WE DO?
The CMA will deliver its mission and achieve its goals through a series of events, collaborations, reports, advisory services and a UK Parliamentary Group.
