London, United Kingdom | 18 May 2026

The Critical Minerals Association (UK), with support from the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), welcomed guests from across government, industry, academia and the wider critical minerals sector for the UK Critical Minerals Website Showcase - Ministerial Launch held in London on 18 May 2026.

The event celebrated the recent launch of the UK Critical Minerals website, a new online platform designed to support the UK critical minerals sector by bringing together key resources, industry information and opportunities in one place.

Minister for Industry, Chris McDonald MP, delivered the commencement speech during the evening.

Minister for Industry Chris McDonald said:

"We need critical minerals for everything, from the phones we use to the cars we drive, and this new website will bring investors, businesses, academics together in showcasing the great opportunities to network, partner up and invest as the UK ramps up domestic production in the sector.

"This website is exactly what our Critical Minerals Strategy aims to support, as we look to leverage Britain’s mineral wealth, attract new investment and build more resilient supply chains."

Developed by the Critical Minerals Association (UK) with support from DBT, the UK Critical Minerals platform has been created to improve engagement across the sector and provide access to business support, skills development opportunities, education resources and career pathways related to critical minerals. The platform also aims to support dialogue, information sharing and responsible sector growth across the UK.

Alongside the website showcase, the Critical Minerals Association (UK) also shared the UK Critical Materials Skills Roadmap, supported by Innovate UK. The report outlines the workforce and skills priorities needed to help build the talent pipeline required for a resilient and competitive UK critical minerals industry.

The evening provided an opportunity for stakeholders from across the sector to connect, exchange insights and celebrate the continued development of the UK critical minerals ecosystem.
